Dr. Pedersen is a clinical psychologist and Jungian psychoanalyst with over 30 years of experience in private practice in Walnut Creek, California. In addition to Jungian psychoanalysis and psychotherapy, he has experience in psychosomatic medicine, chronic pain management, and stress management. His clinical work includes the modalities of biofeedback, and neurofeedback and various forms of bodywork such as CranioSacral Therapy, ElectroAcuscope, Auriculotherapy.
Teaching Experience
Dr. Pedersen’s teaching experience includes being a lecturer and supervisor at the C. G. Jung Institute Intern Training Program in San Francisco, CA. He has been an intern supervisor and faculty member of the Kaiser Hospital Psychiatry Department, Vallejo CA. He has taught psychophysiology, pain management, and biofeedback to fellow professionals at the Psychosomatic Medicine Clinic, Proseminar Institute, the Applied Psychophysiology Institute, as well as graduate and undergraduate psychology at the Rosebridge Graduate School of Integrative Psychology and St Mary’s College. He has been a consultant in rehabilitation medicine as well as a consultant to Hospice staff groups of Kaiser Hospitals in Walnut Creek and Vallejo, California.

He is the author of three books, Dark Hearts: The Unconscious Forces That Shape Men’s Lives (ShambhalaPublications, 1989); Sixteen Men: Understanding Masculine Personality Types (ShambhalaPublications, 1991); The Soul Grows in Darkness (iUniverse, 2005). He is currently is working on several other manuscripts: 1) Four Pillars of Happiness: Coping With Yourself, Others, Your Past, and God; 2) Pain, Suffering and Death; 3) Erastes: The Unconscious Mind of the Pedophile.
